Bridgebuilding Fellows Annual Events

Dinner and Discourse

Dinner and Discourse is an event where bridgebuilders share a meal and practice their bridgebuilding skills by discussing a predetermined topic through various civil discourse methods. Among the two events held each semester, one is open only to Bridgebuilders while the other is open to the entire Baylor community.

Internal
This internal Dinner & Discourse event allows for deeper conversations and intentional practice of learned bridgebuilding skills in a trustworthy environment.

External
This external Dinner & Discourse event allows for attendees to share their views on a predetermined issue, hear different perspectives, and work towards expanding one’s knowledge and promoting mutual understanding.

Community of Practice

Monthly gatherings for Bridgebuilding Fellows that include shared meals, continued bridgebuilding training, learning opportunities, and general announcements about upcoming events and activities for the next month.

Coffee Chats

Coffee Chats take place throughout the semester and pair Bridgebuilding Fellows for informal conversations over coffee or boba. Each Fellow connects with three of their peers over the course of the semester to discuss predetermined topics and practice their bridgebuilding skills.

Bridgemas

An end of year gathering for Bridgebuilding Fellows that includes a mug exchange, food, games, and opportunities to connect and celebrate together.

Intercultural Engagement

Intercultural engagement at Baylor means curating thoughtful and intentional opportunities and experiences to cultivate the development of intercultural maturity. Equipping each member of our community to accept challenges from—and at the same time build interdependent relationships with—different people from other backgrounds* is a vital component of advancing Baylor's mission. *(King & Baxter Magolda, 2005)
